In this keynote, Meredith will reflect candidly on 1) what has changed in the past two years and beyond, 2) what she won't go back to, and 3) how we can know ourselves better to sustain us as teachers. Framed in the context of planning, assessing, grading, and teaching every day, come ready to contemplate how we can keep pushing forward together from seed to bloom. (Attendees will receive all of Meredith's materials shown, editable and free.)
Saturday Workshop, 08:00-11:00 - From Seed to Bloom: High Leverage Habits for All Levels
In this session, participants will reflect on the daily and Unit routines that make their class a memorable experience for students rather than just memorized content. In the context of large, diverse classes, the presenter will show and share the ACTFL Six Core Practice templates and activities that she does every Unit to make can-do- and proficiency-based language teaching enjoyable and effective. Participants will receive ALL files free and editable to use as they then work to create their own versions to fit their own needs.
