LFLTA Mini-Grants
Purpose of Grants: To recognize, promote, and strengthen Louisiana's foreign language teachers and their profession, and to inspire teachers to find innovative and creative ways to challenge, stimulate, and encourage learning in the foreign language classroom
Available Grants: One grant of up to $300 will be offered. Monies will be reimbursed after review of receipts, so please plan accordingly.
Eligibility: Applicants may be foreign language teachers at any level at a Louisiana public or private institution. ONLY ONE application per teacher may be submitted. Applicants must
be LFLTA members to receive the grant.
Review Process: Applications are anonymous. Information about the teacher and the school is only permitted on the application cover letter. Winning grant proposals will demonstrate creativity in meeting a specific curriculum challenge and will provide a direct learning benefit for students and the promotion of academic excellence. Proposals requesting technology or classroom supplies will not be considered, and proposals requesting class libraries are discouraged.
Deadline: The deadline for submission of a grant proposal is December 17, 2022. Mini-grants will be awarded at the LFLTA 2023 conference. Winners need to be present or a representative must be sent to receive their award. The Mini-Grant recipient must plan to present results at the next conference as a round-table presentation.
