LFLTA Teacher of the Year
Dear LFLTA members,
It is an honor to announce the opening of nominations for the 2023 LFLTA Teacher of the Year!
This award is intended to elevate the status and the public profile of the language profession in the state of Louisiana by recognizing accomplished members of our profession. Nominations are open to all current members of LFLTA. Everyone is encouraged to nominate an outstanding member of our profession. Self-nominations are accepted.
We are looking for teachers with evidence of:
● community involvement
● passion and dedication to their students
● a strong philosophy of teaching
● professionalism
● involvement at the regional and/or national level in leadership, professional development, and advocacy.
● investment in program longevity
● great connections with students and cater to their individual educational needs
Candidates for the award must be:
● a full-time foreign language teacher with three years of full-time teaching experience in a foreign language in Louisiana with the expectation of teaching for at least two additional years in Louisiana.
● able to attend the 2023 LFLTA Conference. The winner of the LFLTA Teacher of the Year is also encouraged to attend the SCOLT 2024 Conference and compete for the award at the regional level.
