LFLTA Mini Grants
Purpose: To recognize, promote, and strengthen Louisiana's foreign language teachers and their profession.
Available Grants: Two grants of up to $500 each will be offered.
Eligibility: Applicants may be foreign language teachers at any level at a Louisiana public or private institution. ONLY ONE application per teacher may be submitted. Applicants must be LFLTA members.
Purpose Of Grants: To inspire teachers to find new and creative ways to challenge, stimulate, and encourage learning in the foreign language classroom.
Review Process: Applications are anonymous. Information about the teacher and the school is only permitted on the application cover letter. Winning grant proposals will demonstrate creativity in meeting a specific curriculum challenge, a direct learning benefit for students and the promotion of academic excellence.
Follow-Up Evaluation: Those receiving grants will be sent an evaluation questionnaire to provide feedback to LFLTA on improving future mini-grant programs.
Deadline: The deadline for submission of a grant proposal is December 10, 2017. Mini-grants will be awarded at the LFLTA 2018 conference. Winners need to be present or send a representative to receive their awards. Recipients should plan to present results at the 2019 conference as a round-table presentation.
